About Me

My name is Erika Pelkey and I have resided in the Poway area for over a decade. I live on a working ranch, complete with dogs, sheep, cows and horses. I spend every day working on the ranch in some capacity.

I have been working with a variety of animals for the past 12 years. From cleaning stalls to exercising horses at the local stable, to pet sitting for family and friends I have always felt that making animals feel comfortable and safe is the most important part of any job.

Some of my past animal-related jobs and experiences include:

• Sheep shearing
• Stable groom
• Horse exercising/training
• Animal rehabilitation (post surgery)
• Nursing of orphaned animals-lambs and small mammals
• Livestock caretaker-vaccines, hoof care, etc.

After graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara, I decided that I needed a career where I could work with animals and set out to turn my part-time pet sitting into a full-time career.

Pet sitting has allowed me to spend even more time with animals, to understand their needs and unique personalities. I look forward to meeting every animal and learning the lessons that your pet has to teach.
